We will be having our annual student DNow on March 1st-3rd at MBBC.
DNow Theme: Relentless
“For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen & heard” – Acts 4:20
Relentless is centered around one idea: If you were put into a situation where you had to choose Christ, by by doing so you would lose everything, including maybe even your life, would you still do it? Are you willing to pursue Jesus in a way where nothing else comes first?
It won’t be easy. But here’s a secret: few things truly worth having are. Your relationship with Christ is no different.
Relentless: Pursuing Christ at All Cost, will help teenagers understand the 4 main concepts that define a relentless faith: praise, personal evangelism, prayer, and persecution. Your students will see how viewing their faith through these concepts will change their life, and change the world.
Landon Dowden is lead pastor of Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, Georgia.
With the firm belief that the Gospel is the only hope for aligning our lives with God’s Word, Landon is firmly committed to verse by verse exposition of the Bible, because “nothing is better for God’s people than God’s Word.” Landon yielded his own life to Christ at the age of eight while growing up in Louisiana. After finishing with a Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University, Landon furthered his studies with three graduate-level degrees (Master of Divinity, Master of Theology and Doctorate of Philosophy) at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, LA.
He is married to Tara and father to Arabella, Adalaide, Adoniram & Alastair. Leading and shepherding his family is a great priority to Landon, as is making disciples through preaching, mentoring, biblical counseling, and through living life together in the power of the Gospel.
Some of Landon’s hidden talents are humming and beatboxing simultaneously, rapping part of Psalm 23 in Hebrew, being a national record holder for Jump Rope for Heart, and still being able to remember the “cheat code” to Contra on Nintendo.
Chuck Hooten has been leading worship since he received a guitar for Christmas at the age of 16. Over 20 years later he has been blessed with the opportunity to lead for churches, retreats, and conferences all over the world. He has released four solo albums and loves writing songs that the people of God can use to see and savor Jesus. Chuck is one of the Pastors at Shoreline Church in Knoxville TN.
Chuck met his wife, Emily, in Birmingham Alabama while in college. They were married in 2003 and have since been given the most beautiful, emotional, and creative three little girls in the world – Lily, Ava, and Mae. Chuck is a graduate of Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham where he received a degree in Biblical studies, and is working on completing his Masters of Divinity degree.
